Concerto for classical music and art poster For 3 years we have accompanied the Choeur de l'ESPE – Assonance in the design of their classical music posters . It is a mixed choir of more than a hundred people. This choir is aimed at active or retired teachers, students and trainees of the ESPE (Ex-IUFM). It is also open to anyone else. Its purpose is to practice an ensemble vocal activity in order to extend, within the ESPE, the musical and pedagogical training of students, trainees and teachers. This identity is mainly displayed on concert posters .
The logo, the capital A, becomes one of the photo retouching service main components of the posters of these musical concerts , it is always present in a central and imposing way. It serves as a grid for the composition of the titles, with which it plays by superposition. In the background, cropping of classical paintings illustrates the theme of the concert. Each poster is therefore an opportunity to dive back into our art history lessons , in search of the most relevant work with regard to the theme of the concert. Here is a small anthology of not-so-classic music posters . Eugène Louis Boudin - Venice, Santa Maria della Salute from San Giorgio (1895) Left: Vicente Palmaroli - Summer Days (1896) Right: Francisco de Zurbarán.

The Annunciation (1650) Michelangelo - Pieta (1498) Angel Zárraga - Ex votto (1912) Eugène Louis Boudin - Venice, Santa Maria della Salute from San Giorgio (1895) Giovanni Antonio Canal - Gondolliers (1723) Peter Paul Rubens - The Descent from the Cross (1616) Ilya Repin - Sadko (1876) Make not-so-classic concert posters The concert posters are made with two colors, so as not to drown out the text but to bring out the visual drawn from the painting. The logo punctuates the image and gives it a second graphic reading by guiding the eye through lines and diagonals. The size of the letters or the 3 blocks of the capital A attract the eye or underline elements, leading the eye to wander in a triangle on the poster, sometimes caught by a detail of the painting which takes it out of this triad.
